How it works Madrid Tennis League

GROUP LEAGUE

Groups by level

Stages lasting 1 month, from September to June

Groups of 4 players who all play each other (round robin)

A total of 3 matches per player per month

At the end of each stage, the 1st in each group moves up 2 groups, the 2nd moves up 1 group, the 3rd moves down 1 group and the 4th moves down 2 groups.

FINAL KNOCKOUT TOURNAMENT

Knockout tournament with draws (A, B, C, D, E, etc.) of 32 players, made up of 8 groups of consecutive levels

Each draw has a similar, balanced level

The winners of each draw in each zone (North and South) receive sports equipment prizes

The finals are played at a fixed venue, with a photographer and sports equipment prizes

Both the group league and the knockout tournament are played within the city of Madrid. Exceptionally, if both players agree, matches can be played in nearby towns such as Rivas, Alcorcón, San Sebastián de los Reyes, Leganés, Móstoles, etc.

MATCHES AND RESULTS

Each player has a profile in a mobile app where they can see their match history and results, and upload new results

The app lets you contact the players in your group for the current stage via WhatsApp or the in-app chat

Both players must agree on the venue and time. Weekends take priority when agreeing on the day and time of the next match

Each stage lasts 1 month. During that month, each player in a group of 4 must play the other three. A total of 3 matches per month.

Before the match, both players must agree on who brings a can of balls, preferably new or with balls in good condition (good pressure and felt). If they cannot agree, the lower-ranked player must bring the balls.

WARNINGS AND GROUNDS FOR EXPULSION

Not replying to an opponent, or not playing a match without a valid reason (injury, family or work issues, etc.), will result in a warning

Players who reach 3 warnings will be expelled from the league

Not showing up to a scheduled match without a valid reason will result in a serious warning. After 2 serious warnings, the player will also be expelled from the league.

At Ranking Madrid Capital we promote a respectful league, where players commit to turning up to their matches and replying to their opponents to agree on venues and times in a friendly way.
